Worshippers at a Kiambaa church that was burnt during the 2007 post-election violence can now have a reason to smile.
This time, the smiles are not about forgetting the painful past, but about seeing a new chapter rise from it.
On Friday, September 11, 2026, Mama Racheal Ruto launched the Christian Life Assembly Church in Kiambaa, ushering in a new chapter of faith, fellowship and community.
The new church carries memories of a difficult past while giving worshippers a fresh place to pray, meet and build their community.

Racheal shares her message
Racheal said the launch was about more than putting up a new church building.
“A new chapter of faith and community fellowship begins in Kiambaa with the launch of Christian Life Assembly Church,” she said.
She added that the new beginning honours the memories carried by the community while celebrating its resilience, reconciliation and determination to move forward together.
In other words, Kiambaa has chosen to look ahead, with faith leading the way.

A home beyond Sunday
Racheal said the church is envisioned as more than a place of worship.
According to her, it is meant to be a home where families are strengthened, young people are nurtured and communities are brought together through service and compassion.
That means the church is expected to be more than a Sunday destination where people sing, pray and head home. It is being presented as a place where the wider community can find fellowship and support.

For worshippers in Kiambaa, the launch marks a cheerful new beginning after a painful chapter, with the new church standing as a symbol of resilience and a decision to move forward together.
And perhaps that is the simplest message from Kiambaa today: after a difficult past, there is still room to rebuild, worship and smile again.
