Ricardo Momo has got social media talking after making a rather unexpected statement about marriage and children. The Tanzanian media personality recently said “Sio lazima kuwa na mtoto kwenye ndoa”, meaning that having a child in marriage is not a must.

And, of course, that was enough to get people talking.Momo’s statement touches on a subject that can be particularly sensitive in African relationships, where couples can face enormous pressure from relatives and society to have children soon after getting married.

But according to Momo’s view, a marriage does not automatically become incomplete simply because a couple does not have a child. The comment has also attracted attention because Momo has previously spoken publicly about family life.

In an interview with Mwanaspoti, he described himself as a family-oriented person who enjoys spending time with his relatives and making sure they are doing well.

His latest comment has now opened a debate among entertainment fans, with the conversation moving beyond Momo himself to the bigger question of whether children should be considered a requirement for marriage.

Some people believe two people can have a happy and fulfilling marriage without children, while others see raising a family as an important part of married life.
