Millicent Omanga may have a garage filled with luxury cars, but when it comes to parenting, one humble Probox appears to have the real power.
The former senator revealed that she keeps a Probox specifically to discipline her children, and the story has given Kenyans a rather entertaining look at her approach to parenting.
The Probox arrives, kids disappear
Speaking during a sit down interview with Oga Obinna alongside her husband, Omanga opened up about her love for cars.
She mentioned several high-end vehicles she has owned, including a Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Range Rover and Mercedes.
But then came the plot twist.
Omanga said she keeps a Probox for those moments when her children need to be humbled. Instead of sending one of her flashy cars to school, she sends the Probox.
And apparently, the children know exactly what that means.
According to Omanga, once they spot the Probox and its driver at the school gate, they start running away because they do not want to be seen getting into it.
Some reportedly wait for as long as an hour before eventually accepting their fate.
In other words, the Probox does not even need to honk. Its reputation arrives first.
For Mushene, this may be one of the most creative uses of a Probox yet. Forget school runs. This one apparently comes with psychological warfare.
From car boot to luxury cars
Omanga also reflected on her journey in business, revealing that she once sold clothes directly from the boot of her car.
She would load the vehicle with clothes and sell them to customers before eventually building the business success she enjoys today.
Her love for cars has remained strong, with Omanga admitting that spending on vehicles is one of her biggest financial weaknesses.
But while the luxury cars may represent how far she has come, the Probox appears to have earned a completely different title in the family.
It is not the fanciest car in the garage.
It is simply the one the children would rather not see at the school gate.
